Visit

The historic St. Paul Community Church, the heart of the Sugarland community since the late 19th century, is located at 14730 Sugarland Road, Poolesville, Maryland. The church stands at the crossroads of Sugarland Road and Sugarland Lane, five miles south of Poolesville among the fields and forests of the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve.

The church is often open for special events throughout the year, including Montgomery County Heritage Days the last weekend in June and the Heritage Harvest each October.

We are happy to offer tours by appointment. Please contact us at tours@sugarlandproject.org or use the form below to arrange a time. All are welcome! We believe that the Sugarland story has the power to inspire visitors of every background and age.

We ask that visitors be respectful of the Sugarland cemetery, which is a sacred resting place for several generations of ancestors and is still an active burial ground.

You may also explore every known burial in the cemetery, many of them with photographs and biographical information, on FindAGrave.com.
